In the last few weeks I’ve seen a couple of movies in the theaters. I’ve seen The Avengers (twice) and Battleship.
The Avengers (in case you haven’t heard) is F’N AWESOME! It’s possibly the best movie I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot. At the very least, it’s the BEST Superhero movie I’ve ever seen. I love the action, the effects, the dialog (oh, how I loved the dialog), the characters (Tony Stark, you never cease to entertain), the actors and actresses (Scarlett Johansson <3), and some GREAT gags. The movie managed to have a lot of excellent humor moments thanks to some wonderfully written character interaction. The interaction between Iron Man and Captain America being by far my favorite.
In short it was a beautifully well executed movie that I can't even start to explain how amazing it is. If you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT!
Now Battleship, I went into this movie expecting something horrible beyond belief. I mean, come on, it's based on the board game of the same name, has Transformer whales, and the aliens shoot the board game pegs at people, you can't blame me for believing I was getting something laughably horrible here. Well, guess what... I WAS WRONG! Yeah, you heard right, Battleship was actually a pretty damn good movie. And it wasn't just me, I saw it with my wife, Devan, Aphex, and our friend Sara, and we all highly enjoyed it and all responded in shock and awe over how good the movie was.
Now, I’m not saying it’s the best movie ever (that’s The Avengers), it’s not even close to being the best movie ever. BUT it’s still a DAMN GOOD movie, especially considering what it’s based on. The movie manages to be fun, action packed, and just the right degree of silliness. It has just the right level of seriousness and silliness to balance into a wonderful action movie. I highly recommend it. It’s entertaining and well worth the cost of admission.
So I HIGHLY recommend you watch both these movies, you won’t regret it.

Good, I was hoping battleship would be a good movie.
Also annoying as they may be, I would still prefer them as they were over emo and dark
I don’t think any makeover could fix those two.
Well while I’m avoiding Battleship, just cause, I really wanna see the Avengers so it’s good to know ANOTHER of my friends loves it.XD
Hey, cheer up guys! At least they didn’t say “Everyone loves First Person Shooters! Here, take this soldier getup and this rifle, now walk slowly towards the screen while looking down on the ground.”
As for battleship, I’ve heard mixed reviews. Some has said that it even failed to live up to the “so bad it’s good” quota; that they went in knowing what was coming and still found it boring. Me, I’ve got other movies I wanna see this year.
Oh, and Avengers was SO AWESHUM!! *Rainbow Dash awesome-face*
Now THIS is how you exorcise the ghosts of annoying failed video game mascots! XD
New-Bubsy actually kind of looks sexy like that… o_o
Okay, Mr. Collins. I like you, you’re one of by biggest fans, but… yeah… that kinda’ creeps me out there.
But I ain’t hatin’. I’m sure I’ve seen/heard worse.
Look at Sonic! They made him into a radical guy, what could go wrong? *cries on the corner*
Sonic was always like that, they just never gave him a voice. He mostly pantomimed it by lying on the floor, looking annoyed while waiting for you to make him move. All that time he was telling you “I’m waiiiiiiting”, but not in Urkel’s voice thankfully.
He was more a cute animal character… them he became a “look at how awesome I am” and not only in character design, the kind of music used, the more realistic scenary, etc.
Check the evolution of the character design.

Mario aged better while Sonic tried too hard to follow the trends
Heh. I’m betting he did that on purpose.
Shoulda made Bubsy a gender bender instead of a goth. I dunno why.
No way, don’t need Joseph getting anymore confused than he already is.
