Hey, kids! It’s ALF!
For those too young to know (which would mean you’re what… 10), ALF was from a TV show of the same name. He was an alien from the planet Melmac, and he liked to eat cats. I’m serious, he even got a cartoon show, too. The 80s were weird times.
As for the other subject of this comic, Pho, it’s a Vietnamese noodle soup dish. It’s very good. It also seems to be a rather popular food item here in Dallas since you can’t seem to go a block with out hitting a Pho restaurant. I’m not kidding, it’s everywhere, and for good reasons, it’s tasty. If you’ve never had Pho, I’d highly recommend trying it.

My dad watched ALF all the time. Actually, the whole family did. Good times.
I really didn’t care much for the cartoon, though.
I thought the cartoon was actually pretty cool, mainly because it had an interesting surreal quality to it. That and I’m a sucker for alien enviroments.
Maybe it’s Philippine-style pho? ALF would love Filipino cooking. Anyway, I sort of remember the live action show. The sequel TV special in the ’90s was mediocre.

I think my most vivid memory of Alf was his appearance on “Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue” where he threatened to eat Garfield.
Whoa! He threatens to eat Garfield?!
I’ve never seen “Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue”, but now I REALLY want to.
You should check it out. The only time I know of where the Muppet Babies discuss the evils of marijuana.
