Welcome everyone to the return of colorist, Chris Jones. Sorry for the late coloring, it was actually my fault completely. I tried to send it to Chris three weeks in advance to get colored and he never received it. The reason was because I forgot to compress the TIFF file I sent him and I never noticed it got rebounded from his server. DOH! So Chris did this entire thing last minute.
Thanks, Chris, sorry for all the confusion.
Man, what a way to return to the strip. >_<
I wanted to do a comic to celebrate Sonic’s 20th birthday, so here’s a bad Sonic comic. For those who don’t get the joke, Sonic is a popular burger joint that appears in 43 out of 50 states in the US. I reviewed one of their sandwiches once. Speaking of food…

Today I tried Denny’s Bacon Meatloaf. You heard me right, bacon meat loaf. When I saw the commercial for this I got quite excited as I love both meat loaf and bacon. What I got was a tad disappointing.
The main problem is the commercial advertised it looking like that big meaty slice of meat loaf you’re mom would make with bacon in it. What I got was not that. It looked more like a Salisbury steak you’d get out of a cheap Baquet TV dinner, it also had a similar somewhat rubbery taste too it. So the appearance of the meat loaf and it’s texture was a bit disappointing to say the least.
As far as I could tell there wasn’t bacon in it, either. It seemed like it just had bacon sprinkled on top of it with a weird sugary hickory smoked kinda’ ketchup like dressing. It tasted good, but not great. It also just felt like a weird combination of flavors. Like nothing was bad, but it didn’t really jell together well either. It was just kinda’ there. I at least got the raw vegetables with dipping sauce to try to counteract any of the ill effects the baconfied meat loaf way have had on me health wise.
In short it’s an interesting experiment, and while it wasn’t terrible, I don’t think it was good enough to warrant having again. I was glad to try it, but I don’t think I’ll ever have it again. Though I’d rather eat it again than the Double Down anyday… though I might also rather get a Banquet Salisbury Steak meal too.
PS. I forgot to mention, Robert Blake is ENTIRELY to blame for this comic. He gave me the idea in a sorta’ dare format over Twitter. So if you think it sucks, go to his comic and email him some hate. That is all. :p
